An Open Letter

Dear ATHS members and supporters:

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, ATHS is strictly prohibited from participating in any political activity, regardless of party or ideology. This prohibition applies to all levels: federal, state, and local. In short, ATHS has no opinion on politics and does not take part in any political activities.

The mission of ATHS is to preserve the history of trucks, the trucking industry, and its pioneers. We have done this through the generous and passionate support of tens of thousands of members over our 50 years. Our community is richly unique, with people from all walks of life, with different beliefs and backgrounds. ATHS is a community where all are welcome.

With the mission clearly in view, I implore all our volunteers and staff to keep ATHS mission-driven and politics-free. Any endorsement, intended or perceived, could jeopardize the nonprofit status of the Society. As a representative of ATHS, you have an obligation to abide by all laws and regulations to ensure the positive tax-exemption status and general reputation of the Society.

If you have comments or questions on this or any other issue impacting ATHS, you are welcome to reach out to me directly or contact our Executive Director, Laurence Gration, by email or at 816.891.9900.

I look forward to seeing you soon and discussing our mutual passion for the preservation of old trucks.

Most sincerely,

Marty Glomb
ATHS President
